Can you take Xanax and Cialis together? Neither medicine's Australian label lists the other as an interaction — but both can make you dizzy, alcohol makes that worse, and the doctor who prescribes tadalafil (the medicine in Cialis) needs to know you take alprazolam (the medicine in Xanax). The one combination that is never allowed with Cialis is nitrates, the medicines for angina.
Does Xanax interact with Cialis?
No interaction between them is listed. The Australian consumer medicine information for Cialis names the medicines that interact with tadalafil — among them certain antibiotics, antifungals and HIV medicines, medicines for epilepsy, alpha-blockers, blood-pressure medicines and large amounts of alcohol — and alprazolam is not among them (Cialis CMI). The consumer information for alprazolam does not name any erectile dysfunction medicine either (alprazolam CMI). Which side effects can add up?
Dizziness. Alprazolam "may cause drowsiness, dizziness or light headedness in some people", and the alprazolam CMI says not to drive or operate machinery until you know how it affects you. Some men also feel dizzy on tadalafil. Taken together, those effects can add up — so be careful standing up quickly, and do not drive if you feel light-headed.
Can you drink alcohol with Xanax and Cialis?

Can Xanax affect your sex life?
It can. The alprazolam CMI lists "changes in sex drive" among its side effects. Anxiety itself can also cause erection problems. If you notice a change after starting alprazolam, tell your doctor rather than stopping it on your own.
Is Xanax habit-forming?
Yes, it can be. The alprazolam CMI warns that "the use of benzodiazepines may lead to dependence on the medicine" and that taking it for too long may make it habit-forming. Take it only as prescribed, and never stop suddenly without your doctor's advice.
What must never be taken with Cialis?
Nitrates — medicines for angina, including sprays or tablets for chest pain — and "poppers" (amyl nitrite): together with an ED medicine they can cause a sudden, serious drop in blood pressure (healthdirect).
