What is the generic name for Viagra?
Sildenafil. Viagra is a trade name for it, and "Other brands of the same medicine are also available" (healthdirect). The Australian leaflet puts it this way: "VIAGRA contains the active ingredient sildenafil (as citrate)", and it "belongs to a group of medicines called phosphodiesterase type 5 (PDE5) inhibitors" (Viagra CMI). The same medicine has another trade name for another use: "Sildenafil (under another trade name, Revatio) is used to treat pulmonary arterial hypertension" (healthdirect). What are ED medicines called in Australia?
Four medicines, under several names: avanafil (Spedra), vardenafil, sildenafil (for example Viagra) and tadalafil (for example Cialis) are the PDE5 inhibitors available in Australia (healthdirect), and every one of them needs a prescription. The name to check is the one on the pack, in the Australian Register of Therapeutic Goods (ARTG):

What is Viagra called in India?
Sildenafil made in India carries Indian brand names, and Kamagra, a sildenafil product made in India by Ajanta Pharma, is one of them.
