How much caffeine is in an energy drink?
About 80 mg in a 250 mL can — the same as a teaspoon of instant coffee; an espresso has about 145 mg. Healthy adults can safely have around 400 mg of caffeine a day (healthdirect — Caffeine). Large cans and several drinks add up quickly.
Why can too much caffeine be a problem?
